أدانت وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، اقتحام قوات الاحتلال لجامعة بيرزيت، فجر اليوم، والعبث والتخريب بمحتوياتها والاعتداء على الحرس الجامعي وإصابة طالب بالرصاص المطاطي واعتقال آخر من منزله في بلدة كفر نعمة.
وأكدت الوزارة، في بيان لها، أن هذه الاعتداءات تشكل انتهاكاً صارخاً لكافة الأعراف والمواثيق الدولية التي تُجرّم انتهاك حرمة الجامعات والمؤسسات التعليمية عموماً.
وأوضحت أن انتهاكات الاحتلال المتواصلة بحق المؤسسات التعليمية تضرب بعرض الحائط كافة القوانين والمواثيق الدولية التي تضمن حماية المؤسسات التعليمية وحُرمتها، مؤكدةً أن الاحتلال لن يكسر إرادة هذه المؤسسات وطلبتها والعاملين فيها؛ وإنما يجعلهم أكثر تمسكاً برسالة العلم والتعلّم.
وجدّدت وزارة "التعليم العالي" دعوتها للاتحاد الدولي للجامعات، واتحاد الجامعات العربية، وكافة المؤسسات والمنظمات الدولية والحقوقية والإعلامية لفضح هذه الانتهاكات المتواصلة بحق التعليم، واتخاذ موقف حازم تجاهها.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research condemned the Israeli occupation storming of Birzeit University at dawn today, sabotaging its contents, attacking its guards, injuring a student with a rubber pullet, and arresting another one from his home in the village of Kufur Ni’ma.
The Ministry stressed, in a statement, that these attacks constitute a severe violation of all international laws and conventions that criminalize any violation of the sanctity of universities and educational institutions.
It also emphasized on the fact that these attacks will never break our will; Rather, we will be more adherent to the education and learning process.
In this regard, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has renewed its call to the Union of International Universities, Union of Arab Universities, and all International and Human Rights Institutions to expose these violations and attacks against educational institutions.
