The Ministry of Education and Higher Education condemns the killing of 16-year-old Khalil Rasem Abu Alia, a tenth-grade student at Al-Mughayyir School, and 19-year-old Omar Al-Nassan, a first-year student at Birzeit University, by Israeli settlers in Al-Mughayyir, Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.
The Ministry stresses that the crime is part of the ongoing escalation of attacks by Israeli settlers and occupation forces against Palestinians, particularly children, students, schools, and universities, and constitutes a flagrant violation of the right to life, security, and education.
The Ministry calls on international human rights and humanitarian organizations to document these crimes, take effective measures to stop them, and hold those responsible accountable.
The Ministry mourns the two students and extends its deepest condolences to their families and the people of Al-Mughayyir, reaffirming that protecting Palestinian children and youth and safeguarding their right to life and education remain central to its responsibilities.
