The Ministry of Education and Higher Education delegates a football team, on Tuesday/ August 4th , to participate in the Asian Youth Football Championship, which will be held in South Korea between 4-12 / 8/2015, where nearly 80 Asian teams will be competing in this unique event.

In this context, the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Sabri Saydam pointed out that this event comes within the framework of the Ministry's care to improve the students' sporting talents and also to encourage them know more about the other cultures and habits in the world. H.E Dr. Saydam also added that such event aims to expand the students' knowledge and give them a chance to exchange experiences with other counterparts in order to refine their personalities and create a sustainable networking with other international educational institutions.

Dr. Saydam assures that the participation of the Ministry's delegation to South Korea reflects a strong relationship and friendship between the two countries, and demonstrates the Palestinian desire to create more possibilities of cooperation ahead. The Ministry of Education is looking forward to discussing new mechanisms with South Korea for implementing projects and programs to support the education sector in Palestine. H.E Dr. Saydam expresses his profound thanks and admiration for South Korea in hosting the Palestinian delegation, as well as their cooperation with the Ministry of Education in several events and joint programs. H.E. also commends the efforts of the Directorate General of Student Activities in developing the sporting talents and active participation of the younger generation.

In this regard, Elham Abdel Kader Muhaisin -the Director General of Students Activities in the ministry - confirms the importance of the Palestinian participation in this competition, She believes this opportunity will improve their talents and show off their creativity in front of international delegates from other Asian countries, and more importantly to raise the name of the State of Palestine high in this event.

Mrs. Muhaisin also pointed out that the tournament will include a conference to discuss the possible mechanisms of developing the football game for the Asian youth. In addition, there will be a number of cultural events to enable the participants talk about their aspirations and their dreams. This social activity means to show the strong desire of the Palestinian children to live in peace, in dignity and their right to play without constraint like their peers worldwide. She also pointing out that the Palestinian students were precisely chosen, according to certain criteria, from northern provinces to give the best possible representation of Palestine in the event.

The Palestinian delegation is composed of 16 participants, headed Jamal Faroud - Director of the Dept of Sports Activity and Social Work in the DG of Students Activities- and the membership of: Aref Asaireh- Head Division of Sports Activity, and Thaer Thabet- Head Division of Educational Media, and the teacher Khalid Sweidan as a coach, in addition to 12 team members who were born between 1/1/2003 and 31/12/2004. The names of the students are: Essam Rub'i / South Hebron, Mehdi Jamjoum / Hebron, Nour AddinZa'oul / Bethlehem, Abdullah Shabaneh / Ramallah, Salah Addin Yusuf Jerusalem Suburbs, As'ad Abu Salman / Jericho, Hammam al-Safadi /South Nablus, Abdullah of Kakhen / Nablus, Yousef Kamille / Qabatiya, Samer Jaber / Qalqilya, Ahmad Tayyah / Tulkarem, Izz al-Din Jaradat / Jenin.

In a related context, the Ministry of Education conducted a three- day training camp in the Martyr Salah Khalaf Complex in AlFar'a for the students who will represent the Ministry in the Asian Youth Football Champion, where they underwent an intensive training program including a number of instructional lectures and practical exercises.

Mrs. Muhaisin expresses her wholehearted thanks to the Directorate of Education in Tubas, particularly to Amjad Khudairy-the Head Division of Activities and Mohammed Daraghmeh – the Supervisor of Sports Activity for their efforts in conducting the training camp. She also expresses her gratitude to the Sports Supervisors who accompanied the students' training along the three days, they are: Ramzi Qawasmi / South Hebron, Tayseer Alawneh / Nablus, Muhammad Ghannam / Qabatiya, and Idriss Jacob / Ramallah.

Mrs. Muhaisin also expresses her appreciation to "the Martyr Salah Khalaf Complex " represented by Ghassan Qabaha -the Director General of Youth and Sports in the North Districts - on the readiness, good reception and coordination with the crew of Student Activities.

The participating students are very keen to participate in this event, feeling a great pleasure to know more about global cultures and highly enthusiastic to create strong relationships and friendships with their counterparts in this event, especially from South Korea.
